What's New in 2007
through October

Okay, I just don't have time for the news any longer!!!  I get too busy, I suppose.  Well, short update then.  Let's see, I work work
work Mon-Friday, and am still trying to get this thing called Time Management figured out!  All I know is that I need someone to
come in and clean my house, and I can't seem to find the time to make the arrangements.  Soon, I swear.  Unfortunately, first the
heat, and then the drought had put a nix on hunting.  Then...I injured my back.  However, it looks like soon, the dogs will be back in
the field.  I know they miss it.

Trials have been good, though I had to cut back this season, being short on time off at work.   When we've gone, the dogs have
done well.  Gunner is still on top of his racing game, and Mag has had some wins to be proud of.  What good boys.

Mag and I have also resumed our agility classes, and competed "naked" (sans leash) for the first time at Magnolia.  I wondered what
would happen, but he was the best boy!  He won his class both days, with perfect scores.  Yay, for qualifying scores.  Gunner still
troops around the ring for me, which is great for only practicing when we enter the ring for competition.  We have a great time.

What else?  Oh yes, Pea brought me my Gunner girl puppy,
Purdey.  We were hoping for several to choose from, but Pea must have
known what I wanted and didn't waste the energy on a litter or pups, when one would do.  She's a gorgeous smooth, and the
biggest P.I.T.A. puppy I have ever raised.  I love her to death.  Watch out for next year!

Okay, and one last thing...which is not dog related, but still.  In October, Chad's BBQ hobby went big time.  He qualified, and
WON
the 19th Annual Jack Daniels World Invitational BBQ Contest.  This is the biggest event there is for competitive BBQ.  It was an
amazing experience, and we will ride this train for the year...lol.

March/Apriil/May

The time just has gone by in a blur!  Let's see...okay, no hunting during "baby season", so no reports in that area.  I guess the
biggest deal is that I started a new job!  I have gone full time for a pet insurance company.  I just love my new job as a claims
adjudicator.  To be continued...

February

February was just consumed with plans for England.  Finally, the time arrived!  I can't even begin to say what an amazing trip it was.
Our hosts were beyond wonderful, showing Jamie and me the times of our lives.  Lucky me, I have such a super husband, who
(though with a complaint or two) took care of the dogs like they were his own...haha.  I got daily email reports on who had ate
what, drank what, pottied where, etc.

We got in a few days of site seeing, with an unforgettable visit to
Swimbridge, to see where the Rev. John Russell was parson for
nearly 50 years, and now lies buried.  On that day, we also got to take in
Exmoor National Park, a place I would love to revisit.  In our
travels, we also frequently passed
Stonehenge!  Finally, after about the third time, we got to pull over and go take a look.  Just
amazing to be standing there.  Of course, our true reason for our visit was some
terrier time, and we got in our share of that.  It sure
puts things into a new perspective for me, to see our terriers in their native land.  Definitely a trip of a lifetime.

January

With such a mild winter so far, we've still been up to hunting most weekends.  Unfortunately, the critters don't feel all that obliged
to be in the ground when we go 'round.  Melissa and I took a lengthy drive up to Ohio to hunt with Glen and our buddy Jim, from
Virginia.  We only had in a couple hours of sette checking when the rain started.  A front that was supposed to hold off until later in
the day moved in early, and we called it quits.  A bummer, but we'll just have to reschedule.  Still a fun day.

Susie came over a couple weekends later.  I was a little concerned, as slow as the going has been, but we needn't have worried.
The first afternoon, we had two nice digs, earning Chris Gs' Mr. Freeze his
NHC his first "real" time out!  Way to go, team!  The little
guy is just a natural.  The second day found us digging to more
possums.  Pea had the bad luck to find a critter on the wrong side of
the fence, and we had to nab her before we could find her quarry, but Lily fared better.  We had a great dig to her and her possum,
to earn her second
NHC.  Now the dreaded two certificates.  I hate this time!  The rest of the day was super too, with a total of
two possums, a groundhog, and eh hem...four mice.  I guess our dry spell has ended.

Oh, and CERFs on the last day of the month.  All dogs are good again for the year.  Always nice to know!
